 About the Role 

iCapital is seeking a motivated payroll professional to join our growing global Human Resources team. This is a new position which will assist the Global Payroll Services Lead in managing the firm’s current outsourced payrolls, provide payroll insight and services to employees and partners, and help execute related processes and payroll data management. 

Under the leadership of the Global Payroll Services Lead, and alongside an awesome HR Operations colleague, this position is an outstanding opportunity to grow a career in Payroll on a global level that rewards versatility. In addition to payroll administration, this role also offers the opportunity to collaborate on important HR operations projects in areas that include a new HR/payroll technology platform. 

 Responsibilities 

To be successful in this role, it will be necessary to collaborate with colleagues and partners across departments and geographies to: 

  • Assist with US and Canada outsourced payrolls. 
  • Reconcile all changes that affect pay including salary adjustments, leaves and returns, bonuses and commissions, deductions, and one-time payments such as referral awards, relocation stipends, and severance payments. 
  • Review and finalize timesheets for a small population of US non-exempt employees. 
  • Manage other pay inputs such as garnishments and deduction corrections as needed. 
  • Actively manage the day-to-day relationship with managed services payroll partners, including correspondence, ad-hoc requests, escalation, and troubleshooting. 
  • Assist Global Payroll Services Lead with reconciling and approving payrolls timely and accurately (in partnership with Corporate Finance). 
  • Manage ongoing state employment tax requirements in partnership with our managed services partner.
  • Assist with global year-end processes executed by managed services partners to ensure all are accurate and timely. 
  • Coordinate data for audit responses for periodic internal and external payroll audits and compliance reporting, including 401(k), and Workers Compensation. 
  • Be the secondary point of contact for all payroll-related issues from employees and managed services partner(s). Monitor a payroll email inbox and educate employees with prompt, clear, helpful responses.
  • Embrace the opportunity to learn new software and improve key processes. 

 Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field of study.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or similar APA designation strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience managing multi-state US payroll; global payroll experience a plus.
  • Strong payroll compliance understanding and habits.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate results under firm deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Namely HR or Ceridian DayForce a plus.
  • Willingness to schedule time off around regular payroll, and occasionally project deadlines.
