PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Payroll Specialist will compile and analyze payroll data and statistics to maintain records for the calculation of payroll.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Oversee and audit regular payroll processing activities
  • Support all US locations on payroll issues and ADP questions
  • Complete month-end reporting and reconciliations.
  • Assist with year-end payroll processing and review
  • Act as liaison to Associates with regards to escalated payroll inquiries
  • Assist with payroll training and documentation
  • Assist with HR projects when required
  • Provide quality customer service using established guidelines and tools
  • Identifies, understands and escalates problems as they arise, seeking support as necessary
  • Ensures regulatory compliance
  • Maintains accurate record of transactions in Zendesk database.
  • Provide back up support for Canadian payroll processing

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree and 2 years of Payroll experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 years experience with payroll systems and administration preferred.
  • Experience with ADP and knowledge of ADP Reporting and related HRIS systems preferred
  • Proficient (intermediate level) in Excel, Word, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter with proven time management skills and ability to prioritize in a high volume position
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles (e.g. debits/credits) as they relate to payroll
