A Tier 3 Payroll Specialist is a senior-level role handling the most complex and strategic aspects of payroll management. This position serves as a subject matter expert in payroll processing and strategy, playing a crucial role in ensuring the overall integrity and efficiency of the payroll function for our clients.
The Role. . .
- Payroll Processing: Process and deliver customer payrolls, garnishments, employee maintenance, timesheet consolidation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Customer Service and Response Time: Build and maintain strong customer relationships and provide services according to the Bureau Service Definition and Service Level Agreements.
- Complex Problem Resolution: Address high level payroll issues, including intricate compliance matters and advanced system errors
- System Management: Oversee payroll systems and software, including configurations, upgrades, and integrations with other HR systems
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor compliance with complex local, state and federal regulations
- Advanced Reporting and Analysis: Identify issues and conduct in-depth investigation to provide insight for resolution and present findings to management
- Audit and Controls: Participate in client’s payroll audits and conduct internal audits, and establish controls to prevent and detect errors or fraud
- Policy and Change Management: Assist management with the development and implementation of payroll policies, procedures, and improvements.
- Shadowing: Act as an Onboarding Buddy for junior to mid-level Payroll Specialists. Act as a mentor in showing best practices, observing payroll runs, and client responses
The Ideal Candidate. . .
- Minimum 4-6 years of related experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of Payroll Processing experience
- Computer Skills; Microsoft Office product, especially Excel
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and/or PEO experience
- Knowledge of PRISM a plus
- High School Diploma
- Lifting 10 lbs. and/or standing for long periods of time
