Job Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing employee payroll for two locations ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies. This role supports payroll-related inquiries maintains payroll records and collaborates with HR and Finance to ensure timely and accurate compensation.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees
• Ensure accuracy of timekeeping data including hours worked overtime and PTO
• Maintain and update payroll records deductions and tax withholdings
• Review and audit payroll data to ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations
• Manage payroll adjustments such as retroactive pay and bonuses
• Prepare payroll reports for management
• Coordinate with HR on new hires terminations and employee status changes
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws garnishments. and benefit deductions
• Manage year-end processing including W-2's and audits
• Support system implementations related to payroll by providing payroll expertise advising on requirements and executing testing and validation activities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance HR or related field
• 3 - 5 years' payroll processing experience
• Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Knowledge of payroll systems; experience with Dayforce preferred

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Strong understanding of payroll laws and tax regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy
