About the Role

Under direction from the Payroll Manager, this position is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate processing of multiple payrolls for the company.

    • Provides the highest level of confidentiality when handling sensitive and private information such as social security numbers, bank account information, W-2 information, court-ordered deductions, etc.
    • Validate, review, and process multiple payrolls.
    • Monitors compliance with approved policies and procedures.
    • Ensures all legally required federal, state, and local taxes, Social Security contributions, and other deductions are properly withheld from individual paychecks.
    • Ensure timely and accurate setup and communication with proper agencies for court-ordered deductions and withholdings.
    • Recommends improvements to processes, procedures, and workflow to create efficiencies.
    • Performs and oversees accurate and timely payroll reconciliations and audits, and troubleshoots any issues that arise.
    • Takes ownership to investigate, evaluate and resolve any issues that arise with payroll-related activities.
    • Acts as a liaison between employees and internal departments to collect timesheets, build working relationships, and resolve escalated issues.
    • Escalates high-level payroll issues to the Payroll Manager.
    • Serve as a backup to the Payroll Manager.
    Qualifications & Skills
    • Minimum three (3) years of experience administering payroll with preference to those with a background in the Staffing, Consulting, or Staff Augmentation sectors.
    • Advance excel skills are required
    • Strong mathematical aptitude for complex calculations
    • Ethical conduct in all matters
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate effectively with relevant internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization
    • High-level of technical acumen and proficiency to learn and utilize new software and technologies quickly to continuously evolve and improve our tech-driven advantage
    • High level of analytical and critical thinking skills with a strong drive to investigate, analyze, and resolve simple and complex problems
    • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet conflicting deadlines with minimal direct supervision
    • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace software suite
    • Highly proficient with utilizing several tools to enable real-time collaboration with a globally distributed workforce such as Miro, Monday, Salesforce, Google Meet, Zoom, Slack, etc
    • A commitment to driving the Indeed Flex mission: to help people get jobs, instantly

Preferred Skills

  • Multi-state payroll experience preferred.
