A Day in the LifeÂ
The Accounting team is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to support our growing accounting team in Palo Alto, CA. This role will work closely with PeopleOps, Equity, Benefits and the accounting team on payroll-related matters. This is an opportunity for a highly driven payroll professional who is pro-active, detail oriented, self-motivated and independent. The Impact You’ll Make
- Supervise a staff of two (Sr. PR accountant and Payroll Specialist) assigned in processing full cycle payroll for three US and two Canadian entities.
- Will act as a payroll back-up for the entities assigned, in the absence of the payroll practitioner.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax reporting and withholding responsibilities.
- Responsible for overseeing the processing of off cycle payrolls for termination, stock reporting and other out of cycle payroll transmittal.
- Audit and review employee data between the HRIS system (Workday) and payroll system.
- Oversee/review the payroll reporting of equity related employee compensation in compliance with US and Canadian tax requirements for accuracy.
- Support month-end close and review/approve all payroll-related journal entries, accruals and reconciliation prepared by the Sr. GL Payroll Accountant for the entities assigned.
- Work with cross-functional departments (HR, Finance, Stock, etc.) to implement payroll process improvements and best practices, to drive excellence and eliminate errors
- Assist employees and managers with payroll related matters.
- Train to cross-function with the other payroll team members for coverage, as needed.
- Other payroll related duties/projects may be assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience in US and Canada
- Familiarity with Germany/Singapore payroll a plus
- Experience with the preparation of payroll journals.
- Possess a working knowledge of payroll-related requirements and regulations.
- Attentive to details and high degree of accuracy and attention
- Ability to organize and prioritize deadlines.
- Maintaining confidentiality in all assignments and in all information obtained
- Knowledge in Workday, Netsuite, ADP Workforcenow, Paychex, Fidelity systems
- Good working knowledge in Microsoft business suite, excel, a must.
- Experience with training and managing staff.Â
- Good verbal and written communications
- Bachelor’s degree (a plus)
AppLovin provides a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance rewards approach. Total compensation at AppLovin is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Depending on the position offered, equity, and other forms of incentive compensation (as applicable) may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to dental, vision, and other benefits.
US base pay range (total compensation package will be commensurate with experience)
$107,000—$173,000 USD
