Payroll Tax Auditor

We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based out of our San Pedro Sula, HN Office.

Responsibilities:

• Review and audit payroll data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Assist in preparing and filing payroll tax reports, including federal and state tax returns.
• Oversee the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Perform and assist with audit engagements, auditing financial records in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Identify and implement strategies to minimize the organization's tax liability.
• Research tax law changes and their impact on the organization.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues identified during audits, including reconciling payroll tax accounts and correcting errors.
• Keep up to date with current tax legislation.
• Provide tax planning advice under the Income Tax Act.
• Provide guidance and training to payroll staff on tax compliance and best practices.
• Assist with special projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, tax auditing or a similar role

· Experience with online tax research tools, materials.

• Excellent knowledge of the tax legislation and accounting principles

• Advanced excel and computer skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently.
