ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Tax Coordinator to join our payroll tax team. The coordinator will support our efforts to process Payroll Tax, and W2’s and W2c’s for exempt, non-exempt, and fee-for-service employees. The role requires comfort around nuance and change with a complex environment. The Ability to reach out to tax jurisdictions by phone and website, as well as researching and registering tax jurisdictions as needed.
LOCATION: Remote
COMPENSATION: $31.25 - 33.65/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administer the successful audit and analysis of the bi-weekly and monthly, multi-state Payroll Tax reporting entities for 10,000+ employees
-
Ensure accurate and timely Payroll Tax remittance in compliance with LifeStance policies and in accordance with all federal/state/local regulations
-
Process Payroll Tax level data audits for new hires, employee status changes, and terminations
-
Research and resolve Payroll Tax related inquiries in a timely matter

Calculate and process Payroll Tax adjustments as required

Reconcile Quarterly tax items and adjust/ file / register as needed

Reconcile current year and prior year W2’s
-
Produce and file W2 corrections as needed

Develop appropriate SOP’s and Job-Aids
-
Assist Internal Audit with periodic audits of various Payroll Tax controls to ensure compliance with SOX
-
Help facilitate Payroll Tax processes with newly acquired practices as they integrate into LifeStance
-
Other Payroll Tax operational projects and duties as assigned
-
Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement updates as needed
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
-
Degree in business management, business administration, or a similar field of study preferred
-
3+ years of experience with multi-state employers for federal, state, and locality Payroll tax administration
-
Experience in healthcare industry preferred
-
Detailed knowledge of full Payroll Tax process including taxes, deductions, benefits, 401k, and federal/state regulations
-
Demonstrate strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, macros)
-
Knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow / Smart Compliance preferred
-
WorkDay knowledge a plus
-
Proven analytics and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required
-
Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
-
