Our Finance Operations team supports our group in all financial activities, e.g. regarding accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and corporate treasury. These include asset accounting, intercompany alignment, active collecting, customs invoicing, profit and loss accounting and payment factory for DHL.

Our HR Services run e.g. the payroll for more than 350.000 employees within DHL working in 28 countries across the globe. They also offer time & attendance management, employee data administration and reporting, travel & expense processing and other services.

We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in AMERICAS at Westerville, Ohio.

Job Purpose:

The Timekeeping Team Lead performs specialized tasks across the Kronos timekeeping applications. This role serves as a configuration specialist to support the multiple business units with policy and contract changes in US and Canada. The Timekeeping Supervisor is responsible for configuring and supporting the Kronos application for payroll calculations, union contracts, and laws regarding paid time off plans.

Your tasks:

  • Manages multiple business units requests and updates to the Kronos timekeeping system and ensures that work is assigned to team members appropriately and completed timely.
  • Manages and responds to business unit staff and employee escalations (including analysis, resolution and employee communication, etc.). Ensures compliance with payroll policies and procedures.
  • Runs and balances time files for the weekly and biweekly payroll runs for Supply Chain US and DGF US and supports Cost Rica group on Express time files and inquiries.
  • Supports year end task for configuration within Kronos timekeeping system such as holiday table, MX pay period dates and accrual updates.
  • Partners with site representatives and managers to provide end-to-end operational guidance and support.
  • Responsible for day-to-day activities pertaining to the Kronos application tickets and emails.
  • Works with internal and external parties to triage and resolve escalated issues from business units.
  • Assists in audits and projects related to Kronos application.
  • Completes Kronos activities, such as: user view changes and set up, submitting Kronos IT tickets and running reports, and historical corrections.

Your profile:

Education Level

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferred
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred

Experience Level

  • 3+ years of timekeeping experience
  • 3+ years of payroll experience, including expertise in a multi-state payroll environment, preferred, but not required
  • Exposure and knowledge of complex HR processes that impact timekeeping and payroll applications
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Knowledge of ADP Vantage and Kronos Timekeeping, or similar time and attendance and payroll applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written); ability to effectively interact with others at all levels
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking), preferred

The Payroll Team Lead performs specialized tasks across the payroll function. This role serves as a team leader for other payroll specialists to help provide guidance across assigned areas of work. The Payroll Team Lead is responsible for leveraging subject matter knowledge to ensure integration and consistency of practices across the operation.

Your tasks:

  • Manages multiple work queues and schedules ensuring that work is assigned to team members appropriately and managed within stated SLAs.
  • Manages and responds to Specialist and employee escalations (including analysis, resolution and employee communication, etc.). Ensures compliance with payroll policies and procedures.
  • Provides back up support to team as needed to meet SLA requirements.
  • Provides recommendations and solutions for process improvements; identifies opportunities to mitigate risk and provides value added solutions to meet business needs.
  • Partners with other team leads and managers in HR and PR Operations to provide end-to-end operational guidance and support.
  • Responsible for day-to-day training activities pertaining to assigned functional unit.
  • Works with internal and external 3rd party vendors to triage and resolve escalated issues from specialists.
  • Research business problems; and identifies trends and escalates to manager for guidance.
  • Captures and report on operational metrics; escalates issues to Manager in a timely manner.
  • Inputs data to computerized payroll systems to prepare weekly and biweekly payroll, including updating and adjusting employee master file records upon notice of changes to deductions or status. Performs system data loads.
  • Completes payroll processing activities, such as: computes wage and overtime payments, calculates and records payroll deductions, and processes requests for off-cycle payments
  • Stakeholders
  • Communicate and influence team members to accept practices and approaches
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with business leaders across DPDHL
  • Cooperate with and coordinate 3rd parties e.g., external service providers

Experience Level

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferred
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
