Payroll/Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage payroll functions and ensure our employees are compensated accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and process weekly/bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including salaried and hourly workers, subcontractors, and union/non-union staff, as applicable.
• Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping, tax withholdings, and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and filings.
• Handle wage garnishments, tax levies, and other payroll deductions as required.
• Reconcile payroll data and assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports related to payroll expenses.
• Collaborate with the HR department to track employee benefits, bonuses, and other compensations.
• Address payroll-related queries and discrepancies efficiently and professionally.
• Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations such as prevailing wage laws and union agreements.
• Support audits related to payroll processing and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with accounting/payroll software and systems, specifically Quickbooks.
• Experience with union and non-union payroll processes, prevailing wage reporting, and certified payroll reports.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary: $900-$1100

Shift schedule: Hawaii hours
