What you’ll do:Public is seeking a hungry, motivated HR Operations Coordinator to join our growing People team. Your primary responsibility will be helping to build out all HR Operations functions in partnership with our HR Lead and Chief People Officer. You will support and help scale all aspects of HR ops (systems, benefits, onboarding, etc) for Public as we enter our next phase of growth. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating delightful employee experiences.Â
- Manage employee compliance activities including background checks, fingerprinting, immigration, I-9, e-verify, etcÂ
- Support payroll process, help manage PEOs, FMLA, and employment verifications
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- Assist with the employee onboarding and off-boarding processesÂ
- Support HR lead in rollout of new and updated policies to employees and monitor adoption/engagementÂ
- Update and maintain employee files and records, ensuring integrity and confidentiality Â
This role is located onsite at our New York City offices.Â
What we’re looking for:- 1-3 years’ experience in payroll, HR, or Finance
- Experience working with global and domestic PEO
- Great communication skills with an ability to influence others while developing and implementing HR strategiesÂ
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and the ability to use complex formulas to manipulate data (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)Â
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and up-to-date understanding of employment law
- Experience with ADP and Hibob
- HR Certification
