PCB Designer

About the Role

Are you a Senior Engineer looking to design, test, troubleshoot, and deploy new mass production products? These products are a combination of electronic and mechanical systems for the IoT and access control world.

In this role you will also be expected to:

• Work with other engineers on a team comprised of Brivo employees and contractors. Collaboration points will involve both hardware and software
• Lead, manage and mentor junior engineers
• Communicate with project managers and stakeholders regarding timelines and project difficulties as they arise
• Work with a variety of contract manufacturers, OEMs, etc
• Be able to work independently, as one of the first hardware designers at Brivo
• Travel occasionally, domestic and international

About You

• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of experience
• Experience in advanced digital circuits
• Experience with PCB schematic design, schematics and layout
• Positive track record of developing and deploying successful products on time and on budget
• Experience debugging and resolving practical hardware problems and iterating on designs
• Experience with industry standard software (Altium, Solidworks Electrical, etc)
• Experience with common communications techniques including: i2c, SPI, CAN, ttl serial, USB, and high speed communications
• Experience working through FCC, UL, CE, etc compliance and certification
• Experience with basic CAD work (Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc)
• Boilerplate, e.g. team player, communication, leadership, review others work

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with NFC and bluetooth
• RF design experience, especially onboard and offboard antennas
• Experience with consumer electronics
• Experience with Home Automation (e.g. Z-Wave, Zigbee)
• Experience coding/writing firmware
• Experience with analog circuit design
• Experience in supply chain management
