PCBA Manufacturing Engineer

Lunar is searching for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to develop our manufacturing processes and equipment. This person will be responsible for supporting our PCBA manufacturing processes, working with internal engineering and operations teams as well as external equipment vendors, integrators, and contract manufacturers.
On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…
- Work alongside Operations and Engineering teams to develop new products from the requirements stage all the way through full production ramp
- Lead the development of PCBA manufacturing processes, and provide documented DFM feedback to Engineering
- Work through new revision releases of our PCBAs and mitigate line impact by planning fixture upgrades, process changes, and other modifications in advance
- Present updates on our production status to upper management and cross functional teams
- Travel to equipment vendors to audit their capabilities and buyoff on equipment before shipment (FAT)
- Travel to contract manufacturers to setup processes, perform SATs with equipment vendors, and solve issues that come up during and after production ramp
- Develop process documentation (process flows, PFMEAs, cycle time charts, work instruction etc.) to share both internally and externally
Desired Skills:
- 4+ years in a manufacturing environment working with PCBs and PCBAs
- Ability to manage technical work on the factory floor with clear documentation
- Proven track record of developing and launching production processes with a strong OEE
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial); MS in Engineering preferred
- Familiarity with statistical process control and analysis of quality issues
- Strong project management experience and an eye for detail and organization

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $140k -160k USD.
The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
