PEAK Pathways Genetic Operations Internship
Interested in learning what it takes to succeed in working for an industry-leading global bovine genetics program? Are you passionate about data and utilizing it to make fact-based decisions? Spend your summer with the PEAK Genetics team.
Our intern will need to thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy working with and evaluating data. They will spend the summer working with the Genetic Support and Operations teams to develop impactful decision-making tools to further progress our genetic program. In addition, they'll take current data and create reports to aid in that decision-making process.
Within this program, interns will have the ability to step foot into all facets of PEAK, but focus on creative innovative and impactful tools, reports and services that support PEAK Genetics. There will be hands-on facets of this internship to gain an all-encompassing understanding of the PEAK Genetic program functions. There will be opportunities for the intern to gain experience throughout the company to have a better understanding of the total scope of PEAK.
Ideal Candidates
- Students pursuing an education within agriculture, biology, genetics, or data science
- Undergraduate education level or higher (graduate, Ph.D., veterinary school)
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel
- Passionate about agriculture and innovation
- Willingness to learn and experience new things
Location & Duration
This 12-week PEAK Pathways Internship position will be based in Wisconsin and headquartered at either our Madison, Shawano or Watertown location during the summer months of 2024.
Compensation & Benefits
Applicants will receive a competitive salary for their summer experience. Depending on the location of the internship, either housing or a housing stipend will be provided.
Interns will also participate in company events such as the URUS and PEAK Intern Orientations. Based on manager discretion, interns will also participate in other company events or professional conferences. They will also have the chance to shadow an employee from a URUS-sister company of their interest.
