You will play a key role in ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance across people practices while enabling managers to grow as effective leaders. Working closely with senior People & Culture leadership, you will influence organizational effectiveness and help design scalable programs that support a distributed workforce. This is a highly collaborative role where empathy, judgment, and operational excellence intersect to drive meaningful impact.

Accountabilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, workplace concerns, and policy interpretation, applying discretion, empathy, and sound judgment.
  • Lead and support workplace investigations, including documentation, interviews, findings summaries, and recommendations in partnership with leadership and legal counsel.
  • Coach managers on performance management, feedback delivery, corrective action, and handling sensitive employee situations effectively and consistently.
  • Manage engagement programs, surveys, and lifecycle touchpoints such as onboarding, transitions, and offboarding to improve employee experience.
  • Support and partner with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), enabling structure, programming, and alignment with broader organizational goals.
  • Design and facilitate initiatives that strengthen manager capability, employee engagement, recognition, and team effectiveness.
  • Manage performance review cycles, goal setting processes, and calibration activities while ensuring accurate HRIS documentation and consistency.
  • Analyze HR trends across engagement, retention, and performance to identify insights and recommend organizational improvements.
  • Support HR compliance, policy updates, and alignment with employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and related regulations.
  • Requirements

This role requires strong HR expertise with a focus on employee relations, performance management, and organizational partnership within fast-paced or mission-driven environments.

    • 6+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2+ years in employee relations or HR business partner roles.
    • Proven experience conducting workplace investigations and managing sensitive employee relations cases with discretion and fairness.
    • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws, compliance frameworks, and HR best practices.
    • Experience coaching managers and supporting leadership development and performance improvement initiatives.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and support change in a distributed work environment.
    • Experience working with HRIS and HR platforms (e.g., ADP, UKG, TriNet, Greenhouse, Lever, or similar).
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills with attention to detail.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred; HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) are a plus.
    • Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, mental health, or distributed/remote organizations is highly valued.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive salary range: $67,452 – $84,084 (U.S.-based, location-adjusted within range)
      • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with employer support
