People Operations Analyst
Lightmatter is a photonic computer company that is redefining what computers and human beings are capable of by building the engines that will drive discoveries and progress sustainably. With modern human progress relying heavily on computers, the world has hit a dead end with traditional transistors, and the prospect of constantly building data centers is an environmental nightmare. Lightmatter builds chips for artificial intelligence computing. Our architecture leverages the unique properties of light to enable a fast and efficient compute platform. We created a solution in photonic computing: using photons instead of electrons to take advantage of their higher bandwidth.
We are seeking a high energy People Operations Specialist who thrives working on a diverse set of responsibilities, in a dynamic environment with a collaborative and caring team. This opportunity is a stepping stone into other areas of the People function. We are looking for an operationally savvy individual who is able to learn our business, get to know our people, and make sure the employee experience is amazing.
Responsibilities
- Operate as "Super Admin" for all HR systems:
- Identify and implement automated process improvements and new functionality
- Build reports to support HR, Finance, and other functions' reporting & analytics needs while ensuring data accuracy
- Create dashboards, reporting and analysis on various business KPIs and compliance requirements, as required and upon request from various stakeholders (HR, IT, Finance, Functional Leaders)
- Develop benefits strategy and plan designs with VP of People. Administer benefits, working closely with benefits consultants and providers to support employees
- Partner with Finance to input, review, and process payroll accurately
- Manage HR vendor relationships including oversight of contracts, procurement, renewals, billing processes, in coordination with Finance
- Lead new employee onboarding, working closely with hiring managers to ensure smooth integration of new hires into the company
- Manage compliance requirements and reporting and assist in the development of policies
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to administer employee engagement surveys, track action plans, and provide insight on trends
- Assist with compensation benchmarking and participation in surveys
- Support the team with the rollout and execution of HR programs and events that support employee engagement
- Manage HR related content and resources on Lightmatter's intranet
- Help ensure a high-quality employee experience from the time a candidate accepts an offer through their time at Lightmatter
Requirements
- 5-8 years experience in HR operations
- Benefits planning and administration experience
- Experience administering HR systems, including performance management, compensation planning, payroll, HRIS
- Proficiency in Excel and other tools (such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio) to present data to drive insights and decisions
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Vendor management experience

We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role, including all US locations, is $95,000-$125,000. Your base salary will be determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
