Vast is looking for a People Operations Associate, reporting to the Senior People Operations Specialist, to support the people operations programs and initiatives to enable the growth and retention of our incredible team at Vast. This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee our HRIS system (Rippling) to manage the entire employee life cycle, ensuring accurate and updated electronic files
  • Provide employees and managers with information, guidance, and direction on HR policies, programs, and processes
  • Handle new hire paperwork in the HRIS system, administer new hire documentation, and assist with exit interviews and off-boarding documentation
  • Act as a primary contact for the new hire program, supporting new employees during their transition into their roles at Vast
  • Support hiring managers in the onboarding process, including the implementation of new onboarding reference guides and expectations
  • Offer support in leave processing, benefits administration, and claim management
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting for compliance and audit requirements in collaboration with the Recruitment, Legal, IT, and Operations teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma 
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of relevant work experience in People Operations.
  • Proven track record as a People Operations professional
  • Exceptional project management and organizational abilities, capable of efficiently delivering complex programs within tight timeframes
  • Profound knowledge of local and regional People practices, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience analyzing complex data, trends and translating findings into actionable recommendations
  • Proficiency in exercising discretion and maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Suite, particularly Google Sheets and Excel

Additional Requirements:

  • Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs without assistance
  • Occasional travel required to other Los Angeles locations

Pay Range:

  • People Operation Associate I: $76,000 - $93,000
  • People Operations Associate II: $87,000 - $107,000
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
 
Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing. This status includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), and asylees and refugees with such status granted, not pending.
