Landis is a homeownership company taking on the housing affordability crisis. Our mission is to guide people on their unique path to homeownership, and we do this through a coaching app and a holistic homeownership program where we buy a home for a client and rent it to them while we help them prepare for a mortgage. Landis is seeking a talented People Operations Manager to join our People team. The role is responsible for providing vital support to the organization’s talent goals and business partnership in aspects of people management, organizational development, culture and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will be experienced in People Operations at a startup, including through scaling. 

Where you will make an impact:

  • Implement people operations programs across the organization, including around onboarding, compensation, benefits, training and development, succession planning, employee relations and retention, and compliance and labor relations
  • Champion collaborative cross functional relationships with Talent Acquisition, Finance, Hiring Managers, and other teams to ensure successful onboarding offboarding of new employees 
  • Develop people operations solutions by collecting and analyzing information via employee surveys and external research, and recommending courses of action
  • Prepare executive and management reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solutions; coaching and counseling managers and employees

Your background includes:

  • 4+ years of prior experience in a similar people operations role (People Operations, People Partner, HR Manager, HR Program Manager, or similar); you have experience in a high growth startup environment
  • Working knowledge of the critical components of a success People department, including performance management, compensation, resolving conflict, employment law, having difficult conversations, employee engagement, and training
  • Proven track record of success
  • Experience working closely and communicating effectively with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders in a constantly evolving, rapid growth environment
  • Proactive self-starter able to prioritize and manage work autonomously
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
