The Team:

People Operations is a small team of highly motivated and collaborative individuals on a mission to create and evolve a world class HR function here at Clear Street.  In this role, you will continue to refine the HR ecosystem and processes that allow our most important asset, our people, to thrive. As Clear Street grows, our team is scaling the infrastructure that touches every aspect of the employee lifecycle. The role works in partnership with the total rewards team and the talent acquisition team within the greater People team.

The Role:

The role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day processes of our People Operations department. You will be responsible for managing various HR operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, as well as implementing and reengineering efficient processes to enhance the overall employee experience. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HR practices and the ability to drive continuous improvement through challenging the status quo and automating where it makes sense.  As Clear Street continues toward our goal to create a single source-of-truth platform for every asset class, in every country, we will need to scale our People Operations team across geographies as well. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Streamline and optimize existing policies and processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to implement best practices and creative solutions.
  • Leverage technology to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency within the People team. 
  • Evaluate the current HR technology stack (HRIS, performance management and learning), make recommendations and implement upgrades to drive operational efficiency and employee engagement.
  • Challenge the status quo, reshape traditional practices and drive innovative solutions. 
  • Ensure compliance with HR legal regulations and reporting requirements. 
  • Work with the Chief People Officer to execute on new and ongoing initiatives such as performance management and goal setting. 
  • Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of employee records and data in our HRIS.
  • Own and manage relationships with third-party service providers for the People Operations team.
  • Provide regular reports on key HR metrics, identifying trends and recommending action plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with groups across the organization, particularly legal, IT, security, and finance.
  • Manage immigration cases with outside counsel.
  • Other ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in related HR roles.
  • Prior experience interacting with both senior leadership and their teams, should have a strong desire to be client facing as well as operational
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Experience facilitating immigration processes, including collaborating with outside counsel to prepare and file cases.
  • Proficiency in HR technology, including experience with implementing new systems. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize for dealing with competing priorities. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Values being in the office and working with team and stakeholders, thrives in a highly visible role.
  • Certification in HR or a related field (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP). 
  • Experience working at a company that has at least 500+ employees across more than one location in both the US and globally.   

We Offer: 

The Base Salary Range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000. This range is representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. Where a candidate falls in this range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. This range represents Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The range stated does not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.

Our belief has always been that we are better as a business when we are all together in person. As such, beginning on January 2, 2023, we are requiring employees to be in the office 4 days per week.
