Wave Sports + Entertainment is a media company built for the next generation of digital super fans. Through a portfolio of over 30 media brands, original content, talent, and a suite of products and services, WSE reaches more than 500M Gen Z and Millennial sports fans on a monthly basis. Our original digital series include New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce and Podcast P with Paul George with more shows launching at the start of this year’s Football and Basketball seasons. Our core content is consistently ranked as the most highly engaged across Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube where over 120 million followers engage with our brands.

We are looking for a People Manager to join WSE to manage and take on an exciting role where they will work to reinvent our existing People Ops processes. They will be given a high degree of autonomy and decision making with the ability to shape the People Ops Org alongside the Finance and Operations team. We want someone who will take an entrepreneurial mindset by coming up with innovative, efficient solutions to the common People Operations challenges faced by a fast growing start-up. This is a high impact role where the ideal candidate will come in, and be given the opportunity to own People Operations with the opportunity for growth in the role and company. The position requires 2+ days per week in the office in Santa Monica, CA, and is not eligible for full-time remote work.

Core Responsibilities
- Own performance review cycle including implementing the tools to allow for transparent and timely evaluation of performance.
- Partner closely with the management team and functional leaders to execute on key strategic initiatives that drive a cohesive company culture and values.
- Develop a program to train and enable people managers to champion our values and drive performance on their teams
- Oversee people program initiatives, such as Learning & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, etc.
- Build out a comprehensive onboarding program to ensure a seamless transition for new employees joining the team.Â
- Own HR compliance overseeing applicable labor laws and regulations for employees and the organizationÂ
Qualifications
- 5+ years of people operations experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent post-secondary degree
- Moderate level of excel skills
- Previous experience in people operations at a fast growing startup
- Experience managing company-wide performance reviewsÂ
- A background in running employee and manager training programs
- The ability to operate independently and efficiently; entrepreneurial mindset used to comeÂ
- Capable of partnering with leadership and managing upwards to drive forward projectsÂ
- You have a gritty & entrepreneurial attitude, and don't shy away from things you don't know
- Willing to think against the grain and find innovative solutions for a fast growing company
- Strong communication, organization, and consensus building skills
- Passion for sports and digital mediaÂ
- SHRM Certification preferred
Physical Requirements
- Capacity to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery and computer/printer
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Work is sedentary and involves sitting most of the time.
- Able to work full time M-F and nights and weekends as needed. With 2+ days per week in the office in Santa Monica, CA.
Work Environment
- The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and work is performed in a business office environment.
- The worker may be exposed to variable lighting conditions (brightness or darkness) and noise during productions when in office.

This role is a full-time position with a base salary range of $115,000 to $135,000/year, and may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. We believe in investing the very best in our employees, so in addition to the base salary for this role, all full-time employees at WSE receive:
