Job objective: We are looking for a hands-on People Operations Manager to support our growing company. The successful candidate will play a key role in the positive growth of the organization by leading total rewards, compliance, employee relations and HR systems and best practices. This role will design and implement best in class strategies to attract and retain talent through ownership of these programs. A high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills complemented by strategic communication and analytical skills are a must. 

 

Duties 
  • Refine and implement total reward strategy across our markets in alignment with business goals 
  • Conduct external and internal pay studies, recommend pay structures 
  • Manage the annual merit, bonus, and promotion cycle 
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics 
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures and maintain company handbook 
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain knowledge of industry trends
  • Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.  
  • Participates in and supports the documentation of investigations of workplace complaints and allegations
  • Manage the full life cycle of the benefit plan renewals, including project management of timelines and activities; new vendor, carrier, or program implementations; contracts, amendments, and plan documents; participant communication and education.   
  • Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
  • Work with our partners in the business to ensure compliance with DoD regulations
  • Maintain and manage our total rewards and HRIS systems 

Required Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field or 5 years of related total compensation and people operations experience 
  • Expertise in HR policies and procedures 
  • Understanding of and experience implementing employee relations investigative processes 
  • Experience in building compensation strategies and market analysis 
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and employee coaching skills
  • Hands on experience with HR systems (Paylocity, CultureAmp, Pave, Radford to name a few) 
  • Strong functional expertise in benefits program design and administration  
  • Working knowledge of government regulations that apply to benefit programs (ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, HCRA)  
  • Solid knowledge of the DOL, Federal, and State employment laws, FMLA, CFRA, PFL, ACA required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to interpret contractual language into easily understandable text; comfortable in group presentations and negotiations  
  • Strong software skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HR systems  
  • US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required) 

Desired Qualifications 
  • SHRM, PHR, or CCP certification
  • Experience working with the Department of Defense or other government entities
  • Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization
  • Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Specialized training in recruitment, employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, or training

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. 
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$120,000$144,000 USD
