People Operations Manager

We are looking for a trusted People Operations Manager to join our team and lead various People Operations programs and processes with the end goal of delivering maximum value to the organization. Here are some ways you’ll make an impact:
- Oversee all aspects of Course Hero’s processes, programs, and policies related to employee onboarding, offboarding, payroll & benefits administration, and compliance while upholding our people-first culture and approach to problem solving
- Lead and continuously improve new hire onboarding processes and initiatives to ensure employees and managers are prepared for their first day (manage onboarding logistics, new hire communications, tools and systems)
- Own benefits and retirement plans administration, including broker/vendor relationships, annual open- enrollment period, claims resolution and general employee inquiriesÂ
- Manage all processes related to parental leaves, FMLA, personal leaves and state regulated leaves
- Partner with Payroll to ensure efficient and accurate processing of payroll, time-off requests, stipends/reimbursements and new-hire bonuses
- Manage the contingent workforce program including supporting the rollout of a new vendor management system (VMS), and work with partners in IT, Legal, Compliance and Finance on day to day program needs
- Oversee annual reporting for the company, including ACA, EEO-C, OSHA 300, 5500’s as well as other mid - year and annual tasks
- Partner with People Operations team to draft, develop and maintain global HR policies and principles and stay informed on changes to local and national laws/statutes that impact company operating procedures
- Identify opportunities to evolve our people programs and support project management and implementation as we continue to grow in scale both nationally and internationally
- Work with Internal Communications to craft and disseminate important People Operations communications that keep employees informed and engagedÂ
- Model Course Hero’s core values and be a culture ambassador, inspiring internal stakeholders, your team and external partners in your day to day interactionsÂ
- Manage direct report(s) and provide mentorship and support to the broader People Operations team
Are you our People Operations Manager?
- 7+ years of progressive experience in a related field, including Human Resources Management, People Operations, and/or Compliance, with at least 2+ years of people management experience
- Broad experience applying HR knowledge, skills and abilities to build and maintain efficient and compliant People Operations Programs at scale, including but not limited to: onboarding/offboarding, payroll, leaves and benefits administration, contingent workforce management
- Previous experience supporting a scaling organization at critical stages of growth & expansion (e.g., pre-IPO, M&As, new market entry, etc.)
- Working knowledge of local and national labor laws related to leaves, ADA, wage & hour and other payroll policies
- Demonstrated experience onboarding and managing mutually beneficial vendor relationships (i.e. benefits brokers, PEOs, external counsel)
- Knowledge of annual reporting requirements including ACA, EEO-C, OSHA 300, 5500’s
- Ability and willingness to driving work forward that is strategic, operational and tactical - stretching up or down depending on the needs of the business
- Self-starter who can build programs from the ground up and transform existing processes to meet the constantly evolving needs of the business
- Able to analyze, interpret and use data insights to help advise ongoing administration of and/or updates to people operations programsÂ
- Outstanding judgment and ability to balance compliance with a people-first culture - you know how to assess and communicate risk and work towards agreeable solutions when possibleÂ
- Very professional and personable, able to build and maintain credibility and trust across all levels of the organization and handle confidential employee matters with appropriate cultural sensitivity
- Known to be an excellent cross-functional partner who can synthesize needs, gain alignment, and drive work forward in a highly collaborative environment
- Comfortable with facilitating training and/or speaking in front of large groups, delivering presentations in an engaging and informative manner

- Experience with people systems: Sapling, ADP, Coupa, Reflektive, CultureAmp as well as Vendor Management systemsÂ
- Experience in a multi-state and international organization
