The people operations manager plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining top talent in the technology industry, ensuring that the best minds are working to solve its biggest problems.

Roles & Responsibilities

The people operation manager is responsible for developing and executing the people team strategies and programs that support the company's culture and overall business goals. This role will work closely with leadership to foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture which is essential in promoting diversity and creativity in problem-solving.

  • Provides administrative and operational people support for company leaders and employees.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and initiatives that promote a positive company culture and support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand their talent needs and provide support as required.
  • Lead diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and promote a culture of inclusivity.
  • Talent Acquisition to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR-related issues, such as benefits, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Manage employee engagement and feedback programs to measure and enhance cultural and work environment satisfaction.
  • Manage and lead employee relations investigations, mediation, and resolution of workplace conflicts.
  • Stay current on HR regulations and laws, and ensure company compliance.
  • Ensures organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders; sends internal communications and directives regarding company policies, operational needs, and calendar notices; keeps employees informed of news and developments within the company.
  • Drafts and maintains internal company-branded job descriptions for all employees and new hires for use of client and public advertising.
  • Attends check-in calls with all employees; takes detailed notes; assists with the tracking and maintenance of employee workload.
  • Manages tax registration information in all internal systems; liaises with payroll systems provider.
  • Assists with the management of the company's HRIS/payroll system; drafts and sends new employee offer letters and onboarding documents; performs I-9 verifications for new employees.
  • Facilitates the entire new hire onboarding process; coordination of equipment, system setup, and other onboarding procedures; training for all company benefits, processes, and programs.
  • Prepares overhead and expense reporting, projected annual budgets, and other internal reports as needed.
  • Assists with the management, training, and communications of 401k and other company benefits; coordinates and communicates company volunteer initiatives, events, and social projects.
  • Collects, retains, and manages employee credentials, certifications, and memberships; ensures credentials are kept up to date and within expiration.
  • Complete other functions, as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience working with executive teams and across all staff levels required
  • Must be a team player and able to work effectively independently
  • Excellent communication skills, time management skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
  • A leader and strategic thinker
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and Salesforce; advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Comfortable meeting deadlines and handling confidential information.
  • Able to set priorities, plan and organize tasks, and complete tasks on time.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through time management, ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to learn new processes and procedures.
  • Self-motivated and extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of HR regulations and laws.
