Job Description
Position: People Operations Specialist (full-time)Â
Location: Dallas, TX Â
Keywords: project management, strong communication and organizational skills, employee engagement
Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000
Â
About Take CommandÂ
Take Command is a start-up on a mission to improve the healthcare system, starting with health insurance. Pragmatically speaking, we help employers reimburse employees for individual insurance instead of offering a traditional one-size-fits-all group plan. We believe this model can empower employees (when they have the right support) to be savvy healthcare consumers and have a transformative impact on the entire healthcare system.Â
Let’s be honest—health insurance is usually a confusing, frustrating, and even emotional experience for people. We want to fix that with a new model, great technology, and a superior user experience. We've made a great start, but we need your help to fully realize our long-term vision!
About the RoleÂ
This role is best suited for a proactive individual with strong organizational skills, great people skills, and a drive to propel projects forward. We're looking for someone who brings a high level of enthusiasm, emotional intelligence, and common sense to our People Operations team. We are experiencing rapid growth, so you should be comfortable (and actually thrive) in a deeply dynamic environment with a bias to action.
You will be a key contributor in our mission to make the day-to-day working experience of our employees simpler, more pleasant, and more productive. Our fun-loving and caring culture is super important to us, and we will rely heavily on you to maintain that culture and support our team. We want this to be a fun and supportive place to work! If you’re good with details and love being around and helping people, you might be the perfect fit!Â
In this role, you will:Â
- Assist in general People operationsÂ
- Coordinate and host onboarding classesÂ
- Organize company-wide employee engagement events/activitiesÂ
- Organize company-wide meeting on a weekly basisÂ
- Assist in the creation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activitiesÂ
- Ensure day-to-day office management and operations run smoothly, including some administrative dutiesÂ
You may be a great fit for this role if you have:Â
- A college degree in a related or applicable degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Strong organizational skills as well as clear and professional communications skillsÂ
- Effective project and time management abilitiesÂ
- Experience using the Microsoft Office suite, Slack, and LinkedInÂ
- The ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriatelyÂ
- Genuinely care about othersÂ
How we care for our Take Commanders: Â
At Take Command, we’re excited to build a team and culture that reflects our values. We offer competitive pay, health benefits, and equity options to share with this position. We want you to be an owner along with us in revolutionizing healthcare.Â
- A generously funded ICHRA for medical, dental, and vision premiums and medical expenses. You get to use our own product and we think that’s so exciting and rare!Â
- Unlimited personal vacation with minor restrictionsÂ
- 401(k): 90-day eligibility for a 2% match that vests immediately
- We have two beautiful offices conveniently located at Holly Commons (Austin) and The Hill (Dallas). The kitchen is well stocked (with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks) and we've designed both spaces to have lots of different areas to work--lounge on the couch or stand near your colleague at a kiosk desk.
- Access to LinkedIn learning to further your professional development
- Paid parental leave for new parentsÂ
- Annual technology stipend Â
More About UsÂ
We secured our Series A funding in 2021 and are thrilled to be able to expand our team. The health insurance industry needs some disruption and despite being a small startup, we’re the recognized industry leaders for the reimbursement model.Â
We’ve been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Dallas Morning News, and other publications around Texas and are excited about our growth opportunities.Â
Take Command knows diversity and inclusion among our teammates is integral to our company’s success and growth. Our vision is to recruit, develop, and retain the best team from a diverse candidate pool.Â
This has mostly been about us, but we’d love to hear from you--we can’t wait to hear story!
Â
*Take Command is an equal opportunity employer! We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
