Department: People

People Partner β€” Field Sales Italy

People | Milan, Italy | Full-time

Team description

The People team at SumUp works directly alongside business leaders to help build high-performing, scalable organisations β€” and this role sits right at the centre of that work. You'll be the dedicated People Partner for our Field Sales and Commercial teams in Italy and new markets, a business area that's growing fast and needs strong, consistent people support to match its ambition. If you're energised by real ownership, complex challenges, and the chance to shape how a Sales organisation grows, this is the role for you.

What you'll do

  • Partner with Field Sales and Commercial leaders in Italy to support organisational planning, team structure, and hiring prioritisation alongside Talent Acquisition
  • Streamline onboarding and offboarding to support a high-volume hiring model, working towards a sub-24-hour setup time for new employees and onboarded consultants
  • Review full-time and consultant contracts in partnership with Legal and Sales leadership, making necessary adjustments and ensuring ongoing compliance
  • Support the performance development cycle for Field Sales teams, including rolling out Seeds & Steps frameworks and upskilling leaders on performance-based processes
  • Build and maintain a regular reporting framework covering attrition, productivity, talent density, eNPS, and spans of control β€” using insights to surface risks and flag non-obvious people issues early
  • Collaborate with Compensation & Benefits to ensure SumUp's offer remains competitive and continues to attract top Sales talent across Italy

What we’re looking for

  • Experience supporting Sales teams in a high-growth or high-volume environment, including both FTE and consultant or self-employed workforce models
  • Deep knowledge of Italian employment law and people practices, with the confidence to navigate complex or sensitive employment situations
  • Strong ability to build trust quickly with senior leaders and translate business needs into practical, grounded people solutions
  • Fluency in Italian and English, with French considered a strong advantage
  • Comfort working with people data and analytics to track trends, identify risks, and bring evidence-based recommendations to leadership

Why you should join SumUp
