Working under general supervision, the HR & Payroll Analyst will bridge the gap between our payroll vendor(ADP), Finance, and the People department. This role will be employee-facing and employee-centric, ensuring the integrity of our payroll data, while quickly investigating and solving for any issues that arise. A deep knowledge of the functional interconnections between payroll and other departments will be necessary for success in this role. The employee in this position may interact with their leader when needed to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require their leader's advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Audit payroll, i dentify errors, resolve exceptions, investigate unusual payroll items , and p roblem solve payroll issues for employees . This may include but is not limited to:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Research time import exceptions and secondary job errors during payroll processing.
  • Conduct research for payroll functions such as retro-pay or final pay .

  • Update or correct vacation accruals .
  • Correct timecards and schedules before, during, and after payroll processing.
  • Perform routine quarter and year end payroll audits and validate W-2 accuracy.
  • Print and mail live checks.
  • Ensure smooth benefit integrations with the payroll process .

  • Conduct earnings and deductions audits with the assistance of the Benefits team

  • Participate in the system implementation of the Comprehensive Services through ADP .
  • Manage system vendor relationships
  • Complete verifications of employment requests .
  • Respond to EDD Unemployment and Disability requests .

  • Assist with deferred compensation dispersal payments and audits as needed
  • Assist as needed with escalated absence (time offs and leaves of absence) issues related to pay . including time tracking, pay status, return to work, and status management.
  • Manage ADP customer portal and reporting functionality
  • Provide documentation for subpoena requests .
  • File and maintain physical I- 9s .

  • Create and maintain personnel files .
  • Send error reporting to HRBPs and Workforce Manager in advance of payroll processing .
  • Facilitate the distribution of on-demand payments/paychecks in a timely manner .
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ( EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in processing payroll for a predominantly ho u rly workforce in Manufacturing or Logistics, Distribution, Supply Chain, or similar field, required .
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification a plus, but not required .

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS ( JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES , KNOWLEDGE)
  • Proficient knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

  • Proficient knowledge of payroll inputs and calculations , including differentials, earnings, deductions, taxes, and paid time off.
  • Expert organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated capacity for gathering/scrutinizing data to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable solutions
  • Proficient with payroll and time & attendance software ; experience with ADP Workforce Now and Workforce Manager preferred .
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Working knowledge of HR Management software such as Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar
  • Working knowledge of benefit and system integrations
  • Working k nowledge of payroll related compliance rules for CA and GA preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 5 % of the time.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Compensation Range: $62,500 - $87,500
