About the RoleÂ
As a People Relations Specialist in the HR function, your main focus will be to guide and enhance the relationship between the leaders and employees within USA-CA-PR Sales Markets. Your role is crucial in fostering a positive work environment, resolving conflicts, and ensuring that employment policies and practices align with legal requirements. Understanding the broader business goals in your Sales Market and how people relations strategies align with and contribute to achieving those objectives. Equip HR Business Line and Business Leaders with the appropriate training, tools, and access to relevant information to be proactive in managing risk and People Relations related topics/cases.Â
This hybrid role reports into our People Relations Manager, USA-CA-PR and is based out of an US Support Office location.Â
A Day in the LifeÂ
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*Â

Focus on day-to-day people relations activities, supporting the HR Business Line in handling issues of conflict resolution, investigations, and policy interpretationÂ

Handle escalated investigations and matters where a conflict exists for the HR Business PartnerÂ
-
Drive implementation plan of new and/or updated H&M Group social policies, guidelines or frameworkÂ
-
Deliver on local people relations plans and prios aligned with global strategy and prioritiesÂ
-
Act on local legally needed adaptations of policies and standardsÂ
-
Provide strategic and operational advice to local management and HR Business LineÂ
-
Keep up to date on employment law to ensure compliance
-
Govern and follow up on compliance for entire Sales Market
-
Ensure local grievance process that is in line with the Global grievance policy and handle grievance investigationsÂ
-
Ensure the respect for freedom of associations for all colleagues connected to our businessÂ
-
Create a trustful relationship with employee representativesÂ
-
Secure that Managers are fully aware of their responsibilities and have a proactive internal dialogue
-
Drive risk assessments as a tool to identify hazards in the physical and psychosocial work environmentÂ
-
Participate in risk assessments to analyze and understand events which might lead to crisis and uncertainty in the organization e.g., internal controls or geopolitics contextÂ

Secure that crisis is handled in accordance with Our General People Principles - In times of crisisÂ
-
Expectation to contribute to People Relations Network​Â

Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
Qualifications
Who You Are:
-
At least two years Employee/People Relations experience (may consider equivalent HR education + ER experience)Â
-
Some knowledge of federal, state, local/provincial US and Canadian employment laws and regulationsÂ
-
Proven track record in developing, revising, and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulationsÂ
-
Demonstrated commitment to human rights advocacy within the workplace.Â

Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive occupational health and safety programsÂ

Compensation: salary range is $ 86,804 - $ 97,655 annually**Â
