Job Summary

The People Strategy & Support Partner (PSSP), under some supervision, works closely as a partner in implementing initiatives related to attracting, developing and retaining a talented and committed workforce. The key areas of responsibility include associate relations, organization development/effectiveness and training, talent and performance management, rewards and recognition and communication. The People Strategy & Support Partner builds partnerships with key stakeholders within one business segment, the majority of the support is given to supervisors and front-line managers. This role responds to inquiries from Associates regarding People & Culture processes and procedures within the professional level support groups. They help the business leaders to provide associates with development opportunities and ensure that they are able to meet current and future performance standards. The role works collaboratively with all People & Culture functions.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Strategic Partner: Acts as a partner between People & Culture and the rest of the business to create, adjust and execute People & Culture strategies to respond to changing business needs. Proactively identify critical People & Culture metrics/issues that could/will have an impact on the business. Utilize both their knowledge and understanding of the business and People & Culture practices to find the best way for People & Culture to add value and align with business objectives. Influences change across the organization by demonstrating organizational agility and managerial courage. Demonstrates strong people facilitation skills, excellent organizational skills, and prioritization skills to meet stated deadlines and milestones
  • Communication and Change Management: Take a leadership role in helping clearly communicate changes to the organization that will directly or indirectly impact associates. Drive effective change management through high touch communication that will include discussions/meetings with leaders and associates. Support leaders through change management and communication of other People & Culture policies/practices. Facilitates meetings and discussions in an articulate, professional, and digestible manner. Utilizes knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work.
  • Associate Advocate: Act as an advocate for the associate with leadership and when recommending solutions to associate related issues. Good understanding of associate opinions and anticipate their needs and concerns. Manage conflict between associates and management, while staying compliant with employment laws (Title VII, FMLA, ADA).
  • Relationship Building and Coaching: Proactively build and maintain relationships with all levels of management creating a level of trust and respect in which coaching can be most effective. Counsel managers and associates on policy, procedure and practice interpretation and compliance. Coach associates and managers on appropriate intervention and resolution of associate relations by using progressive coaching techniques.
  • Emergency Responder: Proactively and reactively handle a variety of situations that put the organization at immediate risk. Respond quickly to complaints and line manager questions. Act as an expert in terms of how to handle employment actions in a consistent way and compliant with employment laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three or more years in a People & Culture function.

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Organization Psychology or similar field
  • Certification: PHR/SPHR
  • Three or more years experience supporting multiple levels of management in a fast-paced work environment

Typical Starting Range:

$79,500.00 - $144,100.00

Full Salary Range for position:

California: $91,500.00 - $180,100.00

Colorado: $79,500.00 - $151,300.00

New York: $87,500.00 - $180,100.00

Washington: $83,500.00 - $165,700.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial's 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time ("PSST") upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.

Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
