Performance Engineer

Location- Phoenix,AZ

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Derive and evaluate non-functional requirements, perform impact and risk assessments.
• Draft, modify and execute test plans and performance test scripts to ensure alignment with the non-functional requirements and performance testing standards
• Analyze, create and execute test scenarios for load, stress, scalability, volume and batch tests for the application under test
• Work with cross functional teams, to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during performance testing
• Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software, and analyze the test results to ensure performance SLA's are met and recommend corrective action
• Participating in delivery meetings, daily standups, triage and sprint meetings as a performance test engineer.
• Assist the QA team with functional test executions by reviewing and understanding requirements, creating and maintaining test
• cases, test scripts and test data along with identifying critical issues and reporting bugs.
• Evaluate and track defects to troubleshoot errors and issues identified during functional test executions.
• Assist with the test environment management activities by doing a clean-up on the test environment, running End of day (EOD) and Start of day (SOD) batches on a daily basis after all testing activities are wrapped up, to make sure that date is rolled and ready for testing on the next working day.
• Work with the automation team, in clarifying doubts related to the automation test cases and sorting functional issues related to the application under test.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years' experience in quality assurance testing activities (Planning, Design, Execution).
• Prior experience delivering quality assurance in Payments domain.
• Strong understanding of RTP, ACH, Fedwire, E2E payments processing
• Proficient in API testing using Postman/soapUI
• Experience on executing various performance tests - Load tests, stress tests, endurance tests
• Experience in performance testing using JMeter of web and API based applications
• Experience in Code repository tool such as GitHub
• Should be sound with Azure DevOps and create pipeline jobs
• Proven ability in writing complex SQL database queries.
• Demonstrates strong technical and design skills. Has knowledge of testing methodology, tools, standards and procedures. Has good business knowledge.
• Good knowledge in Agile.
• Must be comfortable presenting and speaking to large groups of people.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Able to execute and deliver plans with minimal guidance.
• Experience with documentation tools such as Confluence/Share Point etc would be good to have.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position will vary depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
