Performance Test Engineer (Java or OOP) (Remote)

Job Description

Flexion Inc., a Madison, WI-based IT Consulting and Services firm, is looking for a Performance Test to work on a long-term consulting project. The client for this position is based in Madison, WI. However, the role is remote.

Performance Test Engineer

As a Performance test engineer, you will own and build performance testing solutions to support our large-scale backend, frontend systems, and microservices. This will involve writing and using automation to consistently test the performance of API and UI and get it ready for production.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Integrate Performance testing as part of our CI/CD pipeline
• Work closely with the stakeholders and provide active feedback & recommendations for better performance of the system. Provide suggestions for code and infrastructure improvements
• Generate periodic Performance reports and articulate the results to the team
• Create required test data and data loads for each Performance test run
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team
• Accurately identify performance testing tasks across the scope of a project and provide testing estimates
• Operate independently, flexibly, proactively and have a flair for innovation

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Performance testing experience
• 4+ years of experience in Java or object-oriented programming
• 2+ years of experience testing React JS applications and Rest APIs
• Experience with building performance testing framework
• Knowledge of performance bottlenecks and end-to-end performance measures (server response time, memory and CPU utilization, throughput, latency, etc.).
• Experience working in an Agile (scrum) software development team
• Experience with AWS Code Pipeline and AWS Farms to support CI/CD and CT
• Experience with Performance testing using Jmeter
• Experience in QA tools, Test Automation (like Selenium), and standard Office tools
• Experience in Unit testing frameworks like Junit/TestNG
• Experience working with GitLab, CloudWatch, Datadog
• Good communications skills - verbal, written, and presentation
• AWS working knowledge and/or certifications
• Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent, in computer science, engineering, or a related field
