This is a hybrid position primarily based in the Bolingbrook, IL office (Chicagoland area). This position develops and supports systems that ensure the business meets the needs of its clients, internally and externally, by following the prescribed standards as determined by the different technical groups, as well as using technical frameworks, both existing and emerging.
Other Key Responsibilities include:
- Develops and maintains software and/or databases using the necessary languages (code/ systems) depending on the system.
- Performs unit testing on code and assist with system testing and UAT (user acceptance testing).
- Investigates technical issues when required, using the help of senior/experienced team members.
- Assists in the preparation of documentation where necessary for new or changed business, operational, or support procedures.
- Records and updates assigned tasks using the work tracking tool and provide status reports on outstanding issues.
- Provides on-call support on a rotating basis for problems which occur out of working hours including support to other CTS locations when required.
- Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.
What will you bring to the role
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in programming languages and operation systems including Perl (80% of the time), XML and SQL
- Experienced in reviewing business requirements & technical specifications to determine necessary code and script changes needed to satisfy the requirements.
- Analytical thinking involving analysis of code constructs and proper methods of validation and reconciliation.
- Experience working with in-house custom-built frameworks and the ability to adapt to learning new frameworks.
- Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge in various control tools, such as Git or TFS.
