This role is designed for a highly experienced technical leader who will drive the architecture, delivery, and evolution of a complex, large-scale digital platform used across multiple business initiatives. You will lead engineering squads responsible for critical backend systems built in Java, ensuring scalability, stability, and high performance in a highly integrated ecosystem. The environment is fast-paced and distributed, requiring strong coordination across multiple teams, stakeholders, and platforms. You will play a key role in defining technical standards, improving system reliability, and guiding architectural decisions in cloud-native and microservices-based environments. This position combines hands-on engineering leadership with strategic influence over platform direction. It is ideal for professionals who thrive in solving complex engineering challenges while mentoring teams and shaping technical excellence.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of critical backend solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Make architectural decisions for distributed systems, balancing performance, maintainability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Guide and support engineering squads through code reviews, technical mentoring, and promotion of engineering best practices.
- Define and enforce standards for REST APIs, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and system integrations.
- Design and oversee robust CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools to support multi-environment deployments.
- Strengthen system observability and reliability through monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Define and enforce security guidelines to reduce vulnerabilities and ensure production stability.
- Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot) and microservices architecture.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS) and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
- Strong expertise in observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
- Solid understanding of secure software engineering practices, including IAM, SAST, and DAST.
- Strong ability to make architectural trade-off decisions based on system design, performance, and scalability.
- Experience with Git, code reviews, refactoring, and resolving complex technical issues.
- Leadership experience in guiding teams, setting standards, and promoting engineering excellence.
