PET/CT Technologist

Performs high quality diagnostic PET/CT and Diagnostic CT procedures, focusing on excellent service to patients, referring physicians, and staff members.  Engages in all regulatory requirements such as described by ACR, the State of California, the Federal Government and any other governing body that provide regulatory guidance for Diagnostic Imaging and its subsections. 

Essential Functions 

• Perform high quality PET/CT exams  

• Assure proper doses and radioactive isotope are ordered each day 

• Assay dose so that the radionuclide is correct and matches procedure. 

• Administer radionuclide in a safe and effective manner. 

• Monitor patient's wellbeing during exams; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action. 

• Guide patients through this sometimes-difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process. 

• Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients. 

• Responsible for keeping valid licensure.  

• Protects patient confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines, making sure protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended 

• Participate in projects and/or meetings, and complete other tasks as assigned by management.

Education, Experience & Certifications:  

•  ARRT(N) certification (or NMTCB certification) 
• CA State License in nuclear medicine (ALL SCOPES DEFINED IN SECTION 30533, PLUS VENIPUNCTURE) 
• CA Radiologic License  
• ARRT (CT) 
• License in NMTCB PET is a plus but not required

Salary range: $60-$75/hour
