We love our pets - a lot. And the Pets at Work Manager will have a front row seat when it comes to loving on our pets, too. This role will bring the Mars Petcare Purpose to life in a very visible and unique way, overseeing the day-to-day operations of our in-house dog day-care facility while providing enrichment, education and much needed play for the pets and pet parents in our office. This Associate's passion for building trust and meaningful programs that support our company's culture should be off the charts. This means a keen attention to detail, team development, compassion for the pets we serve, and meaningful educational programming is critical. This role should always be ready to recommend and advise on how best to include pets in everything we do at our office.
Qualifications
- College Degree preferred (but not required)
- Experience interacting with dogs in a professional setting.
- Experience working in an animal facility or veterinary hospital is preferred.
- Must Love Dogs!
- Knowledge in animal facility operations
- Knowledge of animal health & management issues
- Excellent Customer Service skills in partnering with pet parents.
- Organized & Detail Oriented
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily reservation system, scheduling, & pet database for day-care program & dogs at work programming
- Provide leadership, direction, and development to a team of caretakers (2-3 associates.)
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day day-care responsibilities, such as cleaning, purchasing, and team management to always ensure a friendly and efficient operation.
- Develop and execute meaningful pet-related enrichment programs that support our Associate who are pet parents (grooming, training, CPR classes, etc)
- Manage program budget and propose annual and investment each year (supplies, program materials, etc.)
- Maintain a safe environment for our pets: Monitor, recommend and implement action plans should ongoing pet behavioral issues arise.
- Practice exceptional internal and external customer service consistently.
- Maintains accountability and oversight of the team while seeking out new ways to improve efficiency.
- Comfortable completing daily check lists, logs, data entry, and other required documentation.
- Provides engagement and supervision for dogs in play groups.
- Minimizes stress of dogs in our care by providing effective management and training.
- Participates in hiring, onboarding, & training of our Associates
- Strives for highest level of satisfaction for our pets & pet parents.
