Job Description
(multi state license a major plus especially Louisiana) We are looking for a Full or Part-Time Pharmacist to join our new community Sterile pharmacy in Houston, Texas.
The Pharmacist is responsible for receiving, reviewing, and interpreting physician's orders, dispensing medication to patients, preparing sterile and non-sterile compounded medications, and overseeing the operations.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Prepare customized sterile and non sterile compounded medications tailored to individual patient needs. This involves interpreting prescriptions, selecting appropriate ingredients, and compounding medications in adherence to established protocols and standards.
• Review and verify prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers and work with appropriate Quality and Operations team members to ensure suppliers, ingredients, and accurate procedures are being followed to ensure patient safety standards are met at all times.
• Manage inventory and ensure timely and accurate dispensing of patient orders to all applicable states.
• Provide consultation to patients and customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and medication storage.
• Conduct and/or supervise the maintenance and cleaning of the compounding environment, equipment, and tools.
• Report out-of-specification observations, deviations, and modifications to the Quality team for appropriate handling and documentation.
• Train other compounding pharmacy personnel on best-practice technique and procedures.
• Conduct or supervise environmental monitoring (e.g. recording temperatures, checking incubator samples)
• Assist pharmacist duties in various departments, including administrative duties or providing hands-on assistance in the compounding lab.
• Remain in good-standing with all licensed states.
• Complies and stays up to date with USP < 797>, and < 800>
• Lead state Board and/or applicable regulatory inspections, or cooperatively manage third party accreditations or applicable renewals alongside designated Quality personnel.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
• Registered Pharmacist in good standing with each state of practice.
• Minimally licensed in Texas. Strong preference for applicable nationwide licensure.
• At least 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience desired.
• Ability to work independently and take point in inspections.
• Must be able to wear respirator or any other required PPE.
• Hands-on experience with sterile compounding preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills for communication across all stakeholders regardless of title or position.
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as dosage calculation, formulation of pharmaceutical preparations and data analysis.
• Interest in assisting formulation development or R&D initiatives for potential product expansion
• Comfortable working with pharmacy software (PioneerRX) and various web-based platforms.
• Entrepreneurial traits and ability to contribute strategically and tactically across all departments.
• Positive attitude and team player.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $57.00 - $62.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
