Pharmacist in Charge
Job Description
A well-established, independent community pharmacy in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurialPharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)to lead daily operations and deliver exceptional customer service. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a pharmacist who thrives in a collaborative, service-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all pharmacy operations including sterile and nonsterile compounding, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
• Provide expert guidance on prescriptions, dosage, drug interactions, formula research and patient counseling
• Lead and manage pharmacy staff, including scheduling, workflow oversight, and performance coaching
• Drive sales and profitability through patient-centered services and operational excellence
• Compound sterile and non-sterile medications as needed
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication therapy and patient outcomes
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
• Handle proper disposal and destruction of medications
Qualifications
• Active, unencumbered Texas Pharmacist license (RPh or PharmD)
• Minimum of 3 years in a pharmacy management or PIC role
• 10+ years of experience as a pharmacist preferred
• Strong compounding background (sterile and non-sterile)
• Business acumen and comfort with financial reporting and performance metrics
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Immunization certification preferred
• Experience with Liberty software is a plus
Additional Information
• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, including limited Saturdays as needed
• Physical requirements: Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
