Job Title: Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and dedicatedPharmacy Manager / Pharmacist-in-Chargeto lead our pharmacy team. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care. We are looking for a long-term team member who is committed to excellence, operational efficiency, and patient safety.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all pharmacy operations, including staffing, workflow, inventory, and customer service
• Supervise and mentor pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
• Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and proper documentation
• Review and verify prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, and potential drug interactions
• Maintain compliance with all federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards
• Serve as the primary point of contact for audits, inspections, and licensing matters
• Oversee medication therapy management (MTM) and clinical services
• Administer immunizations and manage vaccine inventory in accordance with state protocols
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Address and resolve any pharmacy-related issues with patients, providers, or staff
• Monitor inventory levels, manage purchasing, and control drug storage and security
• Implement and uphold policies and procedures to ensure safe, efficient pharmacy practices
• Stay current on industry regulations, pharmaceutical trends, and new therapies
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution
• Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in New Jersey
• Current certification as aRegistered Immunization Pharmacist(must meet state-specific requirements)
• Minimum 3-5 years of pharmacy experience, preferably in a leadership or management role
• Strong knowledge of immunization protocols, vaccine storage/handling, and documentation
• In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication management, and regulatory compliance
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to work independently and make critical decisions
• Familiarity with third-party billing, insurance plans, and controlled substance regulations
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with inventory management systems and pharmacy software
• Prior experience as a PIC or pharmacy supervisor
• Experience providing clinical services such as immunizations and MTM
