Photovoltaics Characterization Intern

Position Responsibilities:

• Hands-on photovoltaic device characterization including electronic and optical techniques such as IV measurement, quantum efficiency, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.
• Support in optimizing data management for our laboratory-generated data. 
• Generate comprehensive documentation for current and new laboratory and data procedures.
• Execute reliability studies on our photovoltaic devices and assist in failure analysis.
• Analyze data and summarize key results of experiments.

Undergraduate or Graduate Preferred Majors:

• Material Science & Engineering
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Engineering

Required Expertise:

• Currently working towards an undergraduate degree in a relevant engineering program such as Material Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Prior academic or industrial laboratory experience and laboratory safety awareness.
• Experience with programming languages. 
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new concepts and methods, design and execute experiments, as needed.
• Dexterity and patience to handle small and fragile samples with care.

Preferred:

• Currently working towards a MS in a relevant engineering program.
• Fundamental knowledge of semiconductor materials science, photovoltaic devices, statistics. 
• Experience with physical/chemical analysis techniques.
• Prior laboratory experience. 
• Facility with Python, JMP, SQL, or similar data handling tools.

Hourly Range:  $25.00 USD
