PHP Backend Developer

The Role 

CodingChiefs, a rising industry leader in technical staffing in the Philippines, is looking for an experienced Backend Developer to help a leading digital retailer in Europe extend their platform’s reach to a global scale.. The successful hire will become part of a self-managing SCRUM team with 7 colleagues. This developer is expected to  be passionate and excited about solving impactful technical problems.

Our client is Europe's largest reseller of mobile and game credit, gift cards, subscriptions and digital games. Their goal is to conquer the digital gaming market worldwide with an e-commerce platform that caters to millions of customers worldwide. The Responsibilities

• assisting in the transition towards microservices architecture

• researching and recommending new technology to enhance user experience

• integrating 3rd party APIs and interfaces with our technology suite

• ensure that our platforms continue to function optimally and to maintain performance that is consistently improving 

The Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Developer

• Experience with high traffic & high performance applications

• Extensive and recent experience with 

  • PHP 7.3 + and Laravel and/or Symfony

  • OOP (object-oriented programming), principles

  • MVC, MVVC and other popular programming patterns

  • MySQL

• Experience with the following technologies would be a definite advantage:

  • Frontend Javascript frameworks (bv. Vue.js)  

  • CSS Frameworks (bv. SASS)

  • Git, JIRA, SCRUM

• Excellent understanding of network protocols.

• Strong abstract reasoning skills.

• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent analytical and multitasking skills

• Excellent communication skills, able to interact with clients and internal teams effectively and professionally,

• Travel to the Netherlands to work on location with our client when requested,

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Mathematics, Science & Technology or equivalent.
