Job Overview:
We are seeking a Full Stack PHP Developer to join our team and work on a legacy system built with PHP 5.5 and Symfony 2. In this role, you will maintain and enhance our existing software, ensuring stability and functionality while integrating with other systems through our Symfony-based API. You will work daily with PHP, HTML (Twig templating), JavaScript (jQuery), and MySQL to manage front-end and back-end development and collaborate closely with other developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Back-End Development: Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance back-end functionality within a legacy PHP 5.5 and Symfony 2 environment.
• Front-End Development: Develop, maintain, and update front-end interfaces using HTML (Twig templating) and JavaScript (jQuery).
• API Integrations: Develop and support integrations with external software systems using a PHP API built on Symfony.
• Legacy System Support: Work within older frameworks and technologies, focusing on stability, performance, and compatibility.
• Database Management: Work with MySQL databases to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable data storage and retrieval.
• Codebase Maintenance: Follow best practices for working within a legacy codebase, managing technical debt, and performing regular refactoring where necessary.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with front-end and back-end developers, designers, QA, and product managers to understand requirements and deliver efficient solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• PHP 5.5 Proficiency: Strong understanding of PHP 5.5, with experience working within a legacy PHP environment.
• Symfony 2 Framework: Solid experience with Symfony 2, especially with API development and maintenance.
• Front-End Development: Proficiency in HTML (Twig templating) and JavaScript (jQuery) for developing dynamic user interfaces.
• Database Experience: Strong experience with MySQL, including schema design, query optimization, and debugging.
• API Integration: Familiarity with building and consuming APIs in a PHP (Symfony) environment.
• Debugging and Optimization: Demonstrated ability to debug code, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize solutions within a legacy codebase.

Preferred Skills:

• Legacy System Familiarity: Experience working with and maintaining older PHP frameworks or applications in production.
• Version Control Systems: Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, in a collaborative development environment.

Additional Frameworks or Libraries: Knowledge of additional libraries, frameworks, or systems commonly used with PHP 5.5 and Symfony 2.
