Physician Assistant - Surgical First Assist

Saint Agnes Medical Providers (SAMP) and Saint Agnes Medical Center (SAMC) have an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Physician Assistant to join our Surgical Services team as Surgical First Assist located in Fresno, California.

APP First Assist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Provide direct care perioperatively under the supervision of a surgeon as a first assistant during surgical procedures utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Manage the care of assigned patients and directing the activities of ancillary nursing staff.
• Interact with patients and their families and collaborate with other health team providers to render quality care.

Requirements for this opportunity include:

• A minimum of three years of experience as a Perioperative First Assist
• RNFA certification is required for NPs
• Current PA licensure with the State of California is required
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certification required
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred
