Physician - Orthopedic Surgery - Mercy Health - St. Vincent Medical Center - Outpatient

Job Summary:

• Build a busy ambulatory orthopedic practice that has a large internal referral base with the expectation to expand the program throughout Northwest Ohio.
• Practice includes a mixture of primary and revision total joint replacement patients of the hip and knee and some general cases to supplement volume and maintain productivity.
• Provide orthopedic call with a minimum of 7 days of call coverage per month at a community-based Mercy Health hospital.
• Participate as Orthopedic Clinical Faculty including orthopedic resident clinical and didactic education, multiple multidisciplinary conferences, and grand rounds.

• Established IP & OP TJR program consisting of:
  • multidisciplinary team structure led by Orthopedic Coordinators
  • highly functional OP same day discharge (SDD) program (current SDD % averages 70%)
  • in person TJR class coupled with PAT
  • Patient IQ platform - patient reported outcomes, patient engagement & education, and research capabilities
• Orthopedic & Sports Medicine specialized Physical Therapy team
• BSMH is committed to providing a robust list of TJR supply chain partners for our physicians, ensuring the best outcomes for our patients.
• Orthopedic residency program
• Opportunity to pursue research if interested, clinical research infra-structure support is available
• Outpatient PM&R and Pain Management services
• Inpatient Rehab available staffed by Mercy Physiatrists

Qualifications:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Fellowship training in Hip & Knee Total Joint Replacement required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and commitment to patient-centered care.
