Position Summary:
We are seeking experiencedPipe Weldersto support U.S. Navy ship repair and modernization projects. Work will be performed aboard naval vessels in all stages of maintenanceβfrom drydock to active shipboard environments. Candidates must be proficient in fitting, welding, and repairing a variety of piping systems using approved welding procedures while ensuring strict adherence to Navy, NAVSEA, and AWS quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Performpipe welding and fit-upson various systems including socket welds (1/4β O.D. to 2β IPS) and butt welds (1-1/2β IPS to 14β IPS)
β’
Execute welding onferrous and non-ferrous materialsusingGTAW (TIG), SMAW (stick), and FCAW (flux core)processes
β’
Conduct work bothin-shop and aboard Navy ships, including confined spaces, overhead, and out-of-position welding
β’
Cut and prepare piping using torches, grinders, and hand tools
β’
Ensure all work meetsNAVSEA and ABS standards, including MIL-STD-22D, 248, and 278
β’
Interpretweld symbols, piping schematics, and blueprintsto complete tasks accurately and on time
β’
Maintain clean and safe working conditions, including proper storage of tools and materials
β’
Adhere to all safety procedures, especially fire prevention and hazardous material handling in active shipboard environments
β’
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors or project managers
Required Qualifications:
β’
Proficient inTIG welding(GTAW) and familiar withSMAW/FCAWfor pipe applications
β’
Experience cutting, prepping, and welding pipe in tight or restricted spaces with minimum clearance
β’
Skilled in use and application of6010, 6011, 7018,70S-2,316,RN67, andsil-braze rods
β’
Familiarity withmarine and Navy ship piping systemsand associated specifications
β’
Ability to passvision testandNAVSEA/AWS welding certification testsincluding 6GR position
β’
Must own basichand toolsand havereliable transportation
β’
Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in awkward or confined positions
Welding Certification Requirement β Copper-Nickel (CuNi):
Candidate must hold or be able to pass aNAVSEA or AWS D1.6/D1.2 certified pipe weld testonCopper-Nickel (CuNi)material. The test and certification must meet the following:

Material:Copper-Nickel alloy pipe (typically 70/30 or 90/10 CuNi)

Position:6G or 6GR (fixed, inclined position)

Weld Process:GTAW (TIG) with inert gas purge

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in aNavy shipyard or defense marine repair environment

OSHA 10/30 Maritime safety training

Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
β’
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
β’
Must be eligible to obtain DBIDS clearance for Navy base access
