Pipeline Designer
Job Description

Primary Duties
Develops, organizes, and prepares highly complex layouts, drawings, and designs from written or verbal specifications
Provides advanced level technical support to the CAD drafting/designing staff, IT, and other end user clients.
Manages or leads divisional functional projects or tasks
Provides training and mentoring to Company and contract employees performing CAD design and drafting on Company projects.
Develops and implements CAD procedures, practices, and guidelines, establishing techniques and standards.
Represents the company on internal and external committees and projects regarding CAD issues and data.
Manages drawing document control systems as required to ensure integrity and preservation of record drawings.
Acts as a technical resource for less experienced drafters and designers
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level
Bachelor's degree in Computer Drafting or a related field and two years related experience in pipeline design and CAD drafting; or equivalent
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals with little or no experience or knowledge of the technical area.
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to perform analysis involving ratios, percentages, simple statistical methods, algebra, trig, and geometry and land survey data.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in 3-D AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant Professional, CADWorx Steel, CADWorx Equipment, CADWorx PID Plant Professional, CADWorx Isogen as well as several Microsoft products.
Work Conditions:
Works primarily in an office environment but will require periodic trips to field and construction sites. Includes occasional travel out of town overnight. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
