Pipeline Drafter- Sr Pipeline Drafter

Primary Duties

Provides support to Tech Services by preparing 3D CAD models, process flow diagrams, P&ID's, piping and facility layouts and general arrangements, detail section views, plan and profile drawings, inventory drawings, isometric drawings, orthographic views, alignment sheets, control wire diagrams and electrical schematics, sketches, civil/structural drawings and details.

Prepares preliminary design and layouts based on conceptual direction from engineers.

With aid from Engineers and/or higher-level drafter/designers, creates P&IDs and construction drawings based on written project plans or guidance.

Develops piping and mechanical equipment layouts based on P&IDs, field sketches, vendor specifications and drawings, available Company standards and/or guidance from the engineer or higher-level drafter/designers.

Uses Raster where required to digitally modify scanned copies of facility drawings in the absence of CAD generated drawings.

Prepares alignment and plan/profile drawings from land survey GPS data and survey chain notes.

Develops final as-built drawings for record from red-line markups or on-site collection of as-built data.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Experience Level

High school diploma and two years of Computer Drafting experience, or equivalent.

Communication Skills:

Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals with little or no experience or knowledge of the technical area.

Numeric Skills:

Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages, simple statistical methods, algebra, trig, and geometry.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in 3-D AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant Professional, CADWorx Steel, CADWorx Equipment, CADWorx PID Plant Professional, CADWorx Isogen as well as several Microsoft products.

Work Conditions:

Works primarily in an office environment but will require periodic trips to field and construction sites. Includes occasional travel out of town overnight. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
