Plan Document Specialist

Job Summary

The Plan Document Specialist shares responsibility for supporting WebTPA's compliance activities in relation to federal and state rules and regulations, as well as institutional policies and contract obligations. The Plan Document Specialist works closely with the Director of Compliance to ensure that member information remains private and confidential in accordance with HIPAA and state privacy laws. The position is responsible for coordinating and providing day-to-day assistance in the company's regulatory compliance related efforts.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.

• Prepares, reviews and edits employer plan documents, summary plan descriptions, amendments and summaries of material modification by plan sponsors (60%)
• Assesses plan documents in order to avoid any unintended liability on the part of the organization or the plan sponsor (10%)
• Interprets and utilizes available resources in responding to both standard and non-standard benefit drafting requests; when appropriate, prepares language modifications to comply with regulatory requirements (10%)
• Provides support with general benefit plan drafting issues during account installations/renewals or in conjunction with client meetings (10%)
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of all case communications (i.e., oral and written correspondence) - both internal and external (10%)

Required Work Experience and Qualifications:

• 1+ years related work experience with self-funded health-insurance or related experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interactive people skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to organize and merge a variety of projects simultaneously.

Required Management Experience:

• No supervisory/management experience required.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in related field preferred

General Physical Demands:

• Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
