About Levity:

Levity (levityhome.com) is a new brand in the Ruggable portfolio. Launched in December 2020, Levity’s mission is to build and deliver innovative furniture products that let our customers live without worry. Much like Ruggable rugs, our patent-pending Chair Systems have removable upholstery that can be washed in a home washing machine and easily interchanged for new styles. Though it varies across functions, we operate largely independently (think: startup within a startup), giving you the unique ability to help shape the early trajectory of this new business.

Job Summary:

As the Planning Manager, you will play a vital role on the Procurement team to ensure stability of material planning and execution of procurement processes. You are a strategic and analytical thinker who is comfortable making decisions in data-heavy, fast-paced environments while maintaining a strong focus on the details. You will lead a team of associates, build vendor relationships, review PO planning & performance metrics, and lead strategies to stabilize risks in the supply chain. You are a shrewd negotiator, a thoughtful people leader, and a strong communicator who serves as a close link to the cross-functional partners.

What You’ll Do: 

• Develop and own overall purchasing strategy for existing products and new product launches, including but not limited to setting target inventory levels across SKUs, segmenting the product portfolio, overseeing initial buys for new products and driving overall product investment strategy 
• Establish and benchmark inventory health and replenishment metrics 
• Oversee and manage our budget and spend forecast to ensure an accurate understanding of the cash and gross margin implications of purchasing decisions  
• Developing and maintaining view of key supply risks to product portfolio and prioritizing critical risk mitigation efforts 
• Build vendor scorecards to quantitatively manage supplier performance across order fulfillment, material quality, service, and cost
• Lead day-to-day communication and critical negotiations with suppliers
• Create and maintain procurement models to forecast buying needs, including
• Owning SKU-mix projections and partnering cross-functionally with marketing to develop overall demand forecast 
• Managing tools to ensure accuracy and visibility into inventory position and overall inventory health 
• Building scenario planning tools and models to aid in risk mitigation planning
• Work cross-functionally with the Operations team to ensure successful product launches
• Onboard vendors into our supply chain network through documentation, training, SOPs, and clear expectation-setting

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required: 

• 3-5+ years of professional experience working in global supply chain, procurement, or operations
• Proven track record of people leadership and development
• Strong project management with high attention to detail
• Experience building trust-based relationships with domestic and international vendors
• Strong quantitative analysis skills (modeling) that can drive to data insights and results
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with the Microsoft / Google Suites
• Experience in or willingness to get familiar with NetSuite
• Comfort working in a fast-paced growth environment with competing priorities 
• Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity 

Preferred: 

• APICS certification
