ABOUT THE ROLE.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role of Plant Engineering Manager is to lead the site Maintenance Team. The objective of the team is to continuously improve the performance and reliability of plant/equipment, aiming for World Class. This requires an in-depth knowledge and understanding of modern maintenance tools and techniques. The aim is to maximize equipment efficiency while maintaining the safest methods and ensure a reliable food safe operation.

• To integrate effectively with the Senior Leadership Team on site, with the aim to be the ambassador for reliability rather than a reactive maintenance culture. Working with and supporting the Regional Director, for Maintenance on all aspects of Statutory, Legislation and Compliance tasks while managing the R&M budget.
• Ensuring all Health & Safety & Food Safety regulations are managed to the required standard in all aspects of the role.
• To coach and mentor, members of the maintenance department as required to bring out the best in our people.
• To support the plant's reliability team in identifying the best and most comprehensive maintenance and reliability training for maintenance resources.
• To support and participate in "McCain Driving Impact" management routines and coach a data oriented consistent approach to proactive and preventive maintenance and operational routines.
• To facilitate and coach the maintenance/operational leadership teams in root cause analysis techniques, assets criticality analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis tools.
• Maintain a strong relationship with the plant's leadership team and plant's Reliability partner and supporting the regional reliability strategy targeting the deliverables for the next 5 years to achieve the 2030 Global Vision.
• To be able to manage expectations from several stakeholders Internal and External alike, we are Customer Obsessed.
• Support close communication through structured routines with other manufacturing sites with the aim of benchmarking and participate in the maintenance maturity assessments and road maps, We Think Big and Plan Ahead.
• Establish and maintain relationships with all major suppliers/vendors while challenging our competitive edge. We Act Like Owners.

ABOUT YOU

• Technical Degree Qualified or equivalent
• Health and Safety requirements within Manufacturing Ind.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous Senior Leadership responsibilities
• Experience of working with a wide variety of stakeholders
• At least 5 years' experience in managing maintenance teams and activities within FMCG
• Experience in coaching and facilitation multi discipline teams
• IOSH/NEBOSH Certificate
• Food Safety within food manufacturing.
• MS Computer skills

WHERE WILL I WORK?
You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you've spotted our three wind turbines, then you'll know where we are! With about 400 employees on site, we're one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
