Summary/Objective
The Plant Production General Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day production operation of Resident’s new, state of the art mattress assembly facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
What You’ll Be Doing:Â
- Oversee the production goals of the plant, including but not limited to:
- Production planning
- Finished good targets vs actual analysis
- Process improvements
- Material handling and process improvements
- Quality improvements
- Alignment with central planning and sourcing teams to ensure production plan alignment with demand needs
- Drive a performance-minded culture on-site at our Jeffersonville manufacturing facility
- Utilize strong data analysis and process engineering discipline to develop, plan, and execute to output and productivity targets against a committed schedule
- Work closely with the planning team to develop build plans and the corresponding materials plans and execute effectively on both
- Drive facility to meet or exceed cost and capital utilization goals and budgets
- Work with the PeopleOps team to lead a strong open door and safety-first culture
- Ensure Safety is a key focus of the entire team and that management is actively tracking and improving the overall safety of the facility
- Ensure quality is top priorityÂ
- Ensure the facility and the plant's activities meet all regulatory requirements including federal, state and local laws and statutes. Â
- Work closely with plant accounting to ensure all accounting practices and statutory reporting are accurate, timely and meet company accounting guidelines.
- Develop plant sustainability plans, set targets and deliver against them.
Qualifications/ Skills:Â Â
- 7+ years experience as the senior-most on-site leader (General Manager or equivalent) in an automated plant environment with facility start up and ramp up experience
- Ambitious, fast-paced, inquisitive leader, always seeking process improvement
- Ability to work in an agile, start-up-like environment Â
- Demonstrated ability to respond to business needs quickly and strategically
- Strong General Management acumen to manage the key business and financial optimization of the facility
- Engineering Degree a plus
- Significant understanding of end-to-end supply chain principles.
- Significant understanding of complex manufacturing systems management
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated, highly effective people manager
- Strong and effective communications skills
