About your team

The Department is responsible for acquisition and distribution of data for GPS business including Web, Client Interface, Data, Record Keeping and Transfer Agency systems of the Distributions offering. The core engine allows dealing, income distributions, payment processing, customer accounting and record keeping etc. The team works on data warehousing and distribution and now evolving to data lake concepts

About your role
This position is for a Platform engineer to work in the Data Analytics team within the GPS Technology group. The role will be responsible for implementing, deploying and maintaining multi-scale data analytics solutions in AWS Cloud to support the delivery of a variety of Data Analytics projects.Relationship management skills for the various business contacts for the area will be important to ensure a superior service to our clients is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and deliver technically robust solutions for assigned features including unit and integration testing
• Help in maintaining the standards, procedures and best practices in the team
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with security standards
• Monitor and optimize performance of applications and AWS resources
• Analyze logs and metrics to troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environment
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code to deploy and run API Gateway, Kinesis, Python Lambda, EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, DynamoDB, Fargate, SageMaker, Glue
• Actively engage throughout the feature development lifecycle by reviewing pull requests and participating in agile ceremonies.

Required Skills

• 6-8 years programming experience in Python and Java with ability to write high quality code optimized for performance and scale
• Good knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Experience with serverless architecture and functions
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and microservices
• Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible
• Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker
• Experience with CI/CD tools preferably Jenkins
• Strong knowledge of version control systems particularly Git
• Familiarity with Bash scripting and job automation in Linux environments
• Ability to triage problems, determine root cause and drive resolution
• Fair idea of Agile methodology, familiar with scrum ceremonies
• Good inter-personal, communication skills

Preferred Skills

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C03) certification
